SHOP LIKE A ROCK STAR!

Twice a year the Sanctuary team piles into my BMW and heads down Route 29 to the High Point Market, the largest home furnishings industry trade show in the world.

Can’t imagine it? Think fashion week, but for furniture.

There is really no place like it. Vendors come from all over the world, and they all have equal exposure. Each vendor shows up with their latest and greatest, which gives us unique access to the most creative products out there. When you are sourcing a store so much of the ordering is done online, so High Point really gives us a unique opportunity to actually touch and feel the products that we are buying.

We roll into market after several hours in the car (bonus points for avoiding an altercation with our GPS), pull off our four inch heels, slip into our flats and hit the ground running.

I always tell my clients that if I’m not spending money, I’m not doing my job! (Their husbands love it.. not!) For every hour we are there, we average spending about $2000. Each member of the team scouts different areas, from lighting to furniture to accessories, and reports back to me with their favorite finds.
