Hillary cultivated Sanctuary Interior Design’s reputation for top-tier service and exceptional design consultation via her ability to manage the entire design process, from blueprint to completion, and through her commitment to ensuring that every detail of each project is implemented to the absolute satisfaction of the client.
Hillary has been creating beautiful spaces and designing rooms and parties for her impressive roster of clients for over two decades. She launched her career after receiving a degree in Interior Design in 1987 and going on to work at several interior design firms in Great Falls and McLean. Hillary’s eclectic style and impeccable taste have lead her to collaborate with a diverse array of clientele—from upscale, luxury homeowners purchasing furniture from White House vendors, to those simply seeking to add special touches to their living spaces for comfort and style. Ever the avid globetrotter, Hillary regularly spends time in New York and London, and frequently travels overseas, and at times with clients, to seek out new and interesting products from a plethora of international vendors. Whether she’s in Turkey or France, Hillary is always searching for inspiration, and she is passionate about finding special pieces and accents that she knows will make the perfect impact in a particular space.

In May 2010 Hillary proudly opened the doors of Sanctuary Interior Design, thrilled to be able to share her 20-plus years of design experience and her passion for turning clients’ visions into reality. She considers her rigorous work ethic and innate sense of integrity to be the cornerstones of her success, and credits both of these key character traits for her ability to foster meaningful and long-lasting client relationships. Hillary and her team takes great pride in her meticulous attention to detail and—for her—nothing is more satisfying than helping to bring a client’s exact design vision to life.

Born in Virginia as a fourth generation Washingtonian, Hillary currently resides in Vienna, Virginia. In her spare time Hillary indulges in her other passions—gardening, cooking and making everything beautiful in her own sanctuary.
